Our soccer team, Kodzobi Golden Warriors, has won the championship in the Ghana Football Association of Division 3 FIFA for our area. We are the first team in the Adaklu district to win the Division 3 and be promoted to Division 2. After just one season our guys pulled it out and went beyond our expectations.
We are excited with this new level of competition for the team. But with it comes the realization that our non-profit's finances cannot cover the costs of this level of play.
We are now looking for sponsors for our football team. The cost for one whole season will be about $3,000. This covers the cost of registration for the team in Division 2, bio-metric registration with FIFA for each player, fees for referees for 20 matches, grounds-keeping of our soccer field, about $25 per player for uniform, socks, cleats, and shin guards, and tournament play.
Currently Chad (Sustained Hope's Director) has moved into the management position of the team and his assistant coach is now the head coach. We have two new assistant coaches, one for spiritual development of the players, and the other to focus on the welfare/ medical needs of the team.
We also have added a Kodzobi Golden Warriors Academy team. These are younger players (under the age of 17) that are being trained to be future players on our competitive team. Many of our current players are guys we have trained for the last 6 years.
